We have an exciting opportunity at our Dromana factory and store on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula to join the fun, award winning Red Hill Candle Co team!

At Red Hill Candle Co we invite visitors in to experience our wonderful world of fragrance and we handcraft beautifully scented products. Our welcoming store and experience spaces allow people to get inventive, learn and create something they are proud of.

We are now looking for a confident, mature minded individual to help host candle making experiences and join our retail customer service team. The ideal person will be an all-rounder who will eventually be ready to step up as a leader. You will be mentored across all operational areas including day to day factory operations, customer service, packing orders, hosting candle making experiences and taught the skill and art of candle making. No prior candle making experience is necessary, full training will be provided.

⁠In this role you will need experience in customer service, a willingness to learn and strong organisation and time management skills. While your focus will be in retail sales and hosting candle making workshops and experiences you will also be part of a small robust team in a factory environment and we value the ability to jump in where needed during busy periods.

 

We are seeking an all rounder who thrives in a fast-paced environment working in a small team to deliver amazing customer interactions. The role encompasses all of the following...

Retail Sales & Customer Service:

Ensuring customers receive attentive service from the moment they first interact with Red Hill Candle Co to the moment the exchange ends whether in person, on the phone or via email. Shop sales, occasional markets/expos off site, general retail duties including store opening/closing, restocking shelves and stocktake.

 

Hosting Candle Making Experiences:

Delivering memorable candle making experiences for our guests ranging from groups of 1-30 people in our Scent Lab workshops and Scent Library experience. Setup of workshop spaces, thorough cleaning of all tools and work areas following sessions.

 

Factory Operations:

Preparing and packing online and wholesale orders to be sent via Australia Post and other delivery providers. Helping to develop warehouse procedures that keep the warehouse clean, tidy and running smoothly.

  • Demonstrated organizational skills and time management
  • Resourceful and enthusiastic collaborator
  • Team player with the ability to take direction
  • Passion for delivering memorable customer experiences
  • Detail oriented and a great multitasker
  • Experience in teaching, speaking in front of groups or previous experience hosting workshops or tours would be an advantage

 

Time Commitment

Onboarding starts as casual 6-12 hours per week. Weekend availability, in particular Saturdays is a must. Additional hours available during peak times of the year such as Mothers Day and October-December. The position has room to grow and evolve with our growing business and the right candidates drive to learn new things.
