We’ve rounded up some of the best Hen’s Day ideas and activities (20+ options) on the Mornington Peninsula into one place. From candle making fun, wineries, flower arranging and relaxation to dining at the best breweries, our guide has it all. Whether you’re getting married soon and need to send Hen’s Party activity ideas to your bridesmaids or you are organising a Mornington Peninsula Hen’s Day or Hen's Night for your bestie or sister, our guide to Mornington Peninsula Hen’s Days will be an excellent starting point.

Call it a Hen’s Day, Bachelorette Party or Last Day of Freedom - one thing is for sure, you want the day to be memorable, the bride to be to feel special and to include things throughout the day that will keep the good times rolling. In this Mornington Peninsula Hen’s Party guide we’ve broken down ideas into categories so you can mix and match, and also created links to some itineraries we think will work depending on how adventurous your group is.

We know how tricky it can be finding venues and activities on the Mornington Peninsula that can cater for mid-large sized groups (trust us, we have been in your shoes) so we have factored that in when suggesting places that are worth considering. A good Hen’s Party happens when you get the mix of people right. A fantastic Hen’s Party that goes down in history is when not only are the mix of people right, but the activities are fun and thoughtful, the wine and cocktails are flowing (but not too fast or too soon) and people get to experience somewhere or something new. Yes you could just jump onto a standard Hen's Party winery tour of the Mornington Peninsula, but trust us, with a little planning you'll have a more memorable time considering the options below...read on!

HEN'S DAY ACTIVITY IDEAS

Red Hill Candle Co (Dromana)

Candle making workshops in the Scent Lab are designed as a fun 90 minutes with creating awesome memories in mind. Available for groups of up to 30 held in our beautiful Scent Lab. Everyone gets a complimentary glass of Foxey’s Hangout sparking to get in the mood before designing two of their very own fragrances. You’ll learn from the best about candle making and take home your creations. You even get to choose a name for your new signature blends which is then printed on to a customised label for each person. There’s a new mezzanine space for hire and catering can be arranged which could make the perfect option for a morning tea or afternoon tea event.

For groups looking for a shorter, less hands on and slightly cheaper experience groups can book into our Scent Library experience where everyone gets to design their own signature fragrance and then it is made into a candle for you. This goes for 45 minutes and everyone still gets one candle to take home at the end of the day.

Enchanted Adventure Garden (Arthurs Seat)

We are huge fans of this land adventure park filled business nestled in the treetops at Arthurs Seat. They have created so much more than a maze; there are stunning gardens, games, zip lining and tree surfing activities to take part in as well as sculpture walks and a tree canopy walk (ideal for those seeking less adrenaline fueled activity). The tree surfing however is a series of high ropes courses each which finish with a zip line and their main zip line goes across their lake and gives epic views.

Group rates are available if there are 10+ in your group, individual prices start from $35 for an adult, tree surfing and zip lining extra

Bay Play Tours (Blairgowrie/Portsea)

Join Bayplay Sailing Charters experienced team for a fun sailing cruise adventure aboard their 34ft catamaran. You can take a private charter and swan around for a few hours above deck or can also be taken out to the local seal colony for a snorkel. The catamaran is fully licensed, so sit back and enjoy a glass of wine or a cold beer, create a playlist and hook up to the bluetooth speakers and you’ve got yourself a fab Hen’s Party fit for up to 29 people.

Prices for a private charter start from $900 for 2 hours

Panorama Garden Estate (Boneo)

There are over 19 garden displays on this amazing property and it is also home to novel white kangaroos and other animals. The estate has one of a kind views over Port Phillip Bay and Bass Strait and takes a good 2hours or so to walk around. This could be an option if your group isn’t heavy into the food and wine scene and are looking at a lovely way to spend time together on a bit of a budget.

Entry including tour, prices from $30 per person

DRINK

Bass and Flinders Distillery (Dromana)

Located only 100m from us in the Dromana Industrial Estate is Bass and Flinders Distillery known for their perfectly curated flights and gin & tonic paddles. The modern Distillery Door combines architectural style with a bar, outdoor seating area overlooking green pastures, and a view of their operating stills. A selection of cheese boards and charcuterie are available from their local grazing menu and are perfect for sharing.

JimmyRum (Dromana)

Another Distillery bar just down the road from Red Hill Candle Co is JimmyRum. Here you can enjoy a cocktail, tasting or bite to eat in their working distillery, bar, and rum garden. The distillery and cocktail bar is a welcoming and relaxing space for locals and visitors alike with their huge 1,500L copper still, Matilda as a backdrop. Their food menu changes with the seasons but you can be sure to find gourmet pizzas and local produce share platters. They have pictures of the menu items on their website, just looking at it whilst writing this is making us hungry!

 EAT

Jetty Road Brewery (Dromana)

As the name suggests this is a brewery so this one could well fall into the drinks category as well. The reason we have included it in the ‘Eat’ section is that their food is awesome and it's a spacious venue so you can comfortably book a large table for all your Hen’s Day crew and settle in for a few hours and have a great meal. Like, the food is seriously good restaurant quality food which is washed down with their beer that has a particularly large following. You can still order wine, cocktails and other non beer related drinks but the option for a tasting paddle is there for those that want to try out some of their specialty brews on the day.

Pig and Whistle (Main Ridge)

Hearty traditional English pub fare coupled with a beer garden with views that rival the best wineries on the peninsula. If you are looking for somewhere that won’t break the bank for lunch or dinner that will still provide great ambience and give those peninsula feels, then this could be a great option. There is plenty of space and it’s centrally located to heaps of other fantastic places you may like to include on the day.
